Rowland Heights Park

Today was the last day of RACE Mommy and Me class.
We had our last day of class celebration at Rowland Heights Park.
The weather was kind of gloomy, but luckily no rain.

Hot Dogs ... the main dish for lunch.
Matthew ate the hot dog (just the meat), while Joseph ate the bun.
Matthew doesn't really like bread.
Joseph... I don't know he likes meat, but I guess not hot dogs.

They had fun in the sand and just plain running around and screaming.
Look Matthew and Kasey playing together.

It was nice to see Kathy, Sally (Kathy's mom), Lucas, and 7 week old Noah. So cute. I tried to take a picture of Kathy and Lucas together while Lucas was on the swing, but the pictures came out all blurry. Sorry Kathy. I did get a shot of baby Noah though.

Grand Avenue Park/ Tanaka Farms

May 26, 2009

Playdate at Grand Avenue Park in Chino Hills.

After school Helen 언니, Jeremiah, Joseph, Matthew, and I went to the park to meet 지혜 언니 and her daughter Leighna. Probably our last meeting before Leighna and her family move to Torrance. I wish I had taken more pictures. 지혜 언니 bought a lot of goodies to eat and the kids had a blast playing in the sand. My boys were very tired playing all day long after school until four o'clock. They had a good bath and a good night sleep. After all the next day... Field trip to the strawberry fields.

School Field Trip to Tanaka Farms pictures here.

We woke up early despite a long day the day before.
We got to the school parking lot with time to spare.
Joseph and Matthew were good on the bus and enjoyed the ride very much.
Thank goodness, but generally they are good boys when we go out.

After checking in we all got in the wagon pulled by a tractor. Farmer Jamie, I think that was her name, was our tour guide. Do you know what the difference between a fruit and a vegetable is? Many people don't exactly know. Beans, corn, and eggplants are all fruits. Basically, anything with seeds are fruits. I don't know where I learned this, but this wasn't anything new to me, but it was very educational.

So during the tractor ride we stopped here and there to hear some more good things and also to try some fresh vegetables and fruits. We got to taste string beans, corn, carrots... etc and of course strawberries. The last stop before the end of the tour was of course the strawberry field where we got to pick our own strawberries.

Picking strawberries was a lot of fun. I did most of the picking though. I told the boys to eat the strawberries while I picked, but for some reason my strawberry lovers had a slow start. Matthew and I ate a lot more than Joseph. Joseph was too concerned about filling up his container with green strawberries. Well, not all green. He wanted at least one green strawberry to take home though. I wish we had more time to pick strawberries, but I suppose if there was no time limit all the strawberries would be gone.

If you've never been to Tanaka Farms I recommend you go. Strawberry tours go on til the end of June and also they have other tours depending on the season. Check out my other post here for more information.

Poopy Penny

Can you believe it?
Joseph swallowed a penny yesterday.
I don't know what exactly happened, but he came running to me, clearing his throat, and said 엄마, 돈 먹었어.
After asking him many questions we concluded that he really did swallow a coin and that it was a penny.

You hear stories of babies and young children swallowing small objects.
I don't know... is Joseph who is four years old considered a young child?
Perhaps he is... but he knows better than to go swallow non-edible small objects.

So, are you wondering what happened?
Did we have to go to the emergency room?

We didn't have to go to the emergency room.
We waited for nature to take it's course.
No penny in the morning.
After lunch today though.... what's this?
A brand new shiny 2009 penny.
How lucky is that.
